About This Tool
Cabinet Pull Placement Calculator - Precise Hardware Positioning
Consistent hardware placement is what makes a kitchen look intentional rather than assembled piece by piece. This calculator gives you exact mounting positions for knobs and pulls based on your door dimensions and hardware length.
How to Use the Cabinet Pull Placement Calculator
- Door Width and Height: Enter the door or drawer front dimensions, in inches
- Pull Type: Choose knob, pull, or both
- Pull Length: Select from 3", 4", 5", 6", or 8" center-to-center spacing
Standard Placement Rules
- Knobs on base cabinet doors: Top corner, roughly 2.5" down and 2.5" in from the edge
- Knobs on wall cabinet doors: Bottom corner, mirrored placement
- Pulls: Mounted vertically on doors, centered on the door width for a clean look
- Drawer pulls: Centered horizontally on the drawer front, roughly at mid-height
For a full breakdown of what pull length works best with different drawer and door widths, see our guide to choosing the right Shaker cabinet pull size. Once you've settled on a length, this calculator's center-to-center spacing tells you exactly which pull to buy so the mounting holes line up.
